We are E.H. Crouch Funeral Directors in Stotfold, and we have been at the heart of our community since 1958, when a local man named Ted Crouch wanted to help the families of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Since then, we have been a renowned and beloved part of Stotfold because people know we do everything we can to make a difficult time a little easier for everyone in our care. We are continually striving to set the bar in standards for funeral services and facilities, giving every family careful guidance where it is needed, and most importantly, our uncompromising compassion every step of the way. Please give us a call and we will be here to help and advise you. We can talk 24 hours a day.
At E. H. Crouch we pride ourselves on our kindness, compassion and our professionalism. We are a close and friendly team who have worked together for several years. We look after the families we care for in the same way we would care for our own. Our staff will go out of their way to make sure a funeral service goes above and beyond expectations and provide aftercare to show that we are always there.

From 9 September 2024, there will no longer be a doctor's fee in England and Wales when arranging a funeral. This is because from this date, all deaths in England and Wales will be independently viewed, either by a relevant coroner or by a Medical Examiner and the cost will be met by the NHS.
A Medical Examiner is a specifically trained independent senior doctor who will scrutinise all deaths across a local area that do not fall under the coroner's jurisdiction. By providing a greater level of scrutiny over the cause of deaths; it is hoped that the introduction of Medical Examiners will make it less likely that unnatural causes of death will go unnoticed; that the number of deaths unnecessarily referred to the coroner will be reduced and that national data about causes of death will be captured with greater accuracy.
Medical Examiners, or Medical Examiner Officers, will also be available to meet with families, or their representatives, if they wish to discuss the cause of death.
Nicola & Kathryn both had the perfect balance of empathy, friendliness and professionalism which made a very difficult process easier. They called several times to see how we were, which was appreciated. Perry who was the funeral director on the day called us the night before to go through everything and was equally as friendly, empathetic and professional. Thank you all for your kindness
Following the passing of our beloved mum, Margaret, I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks to E.H.Crouch Funeral Directors, particularly the ladies (Kathryn & Nicola) at Stotfold branch who supported our family throughout such an incredibly difficult and emotional time.
From our very first meeting, we were treated with kindness, compassion, dignity and understanding. Every detail was handled with the utmost care and professionalism, and they guided us through the arrangements with patience and sensitivity when we needed it most.
Thanks Again for your Excellent Service !
